The hostel's location by the river was very convenient, especially for those traveling by car. It was also close to the beach, making it easy to enjoy some sun and sand. The rooms were comfortable with good water pressure in the showers. Despite the language barrier, the staff communicated well and made the check-in process smooth.

There were some negative aspects to the hotel. One aspect that stood out was the lack of cleanliness, as some reviews mentioned holes in sheets and blankets, as well as missing items like towels and toilet paper.

I recently stayed at a lovely hotel in Gandia for a week-long vacation. Despite the language barrier, the staff at Hostal Mengual went out of their way to make my stay comfortable and stress-free. I was impressed with their excellent communication skills, as they were able to assist me even though we didn't speak the same language. The water pressure in the hotel was also great, allowing for a refreshing shower after a long day of exploring. Additionally, the lady who worked in the bar and reception went above and beyond to help me when my car was impounded. I truly appreciated her efforts.

Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this hotel.

Despite being an old hotel, the atmosphere at Hostal Mengual was surprisingly quiet after midnight, allowing for a peaceful night's sleep. Communication with the staff, despite the language barrier, was stress-free and they made every effort to assist. Thank you!

Water pressure was great in the showers, ensuring a refreshing and invigorating experience after a long day exploring the city. the hotel was conveniently located, making it easy to find and navigate to various attractions and amenities in the area. the view of the river from the bathroom was a pleasant surprise, adding a touch of tranquility to the stay.

The noise level in the hotel was quite noticeable, with sounds from neighboring rooms easily heard. the lack of parking outside the hotel meant a nerve-wracking walk back to the car the next morning to ensure its safety.

Communication was a breeze, even with the language barrier. The staff went above and beyond to help with a car mishap. The view by the river was jaw-dropping, and the beds were super comfy. The bar/lounge area was a great spot to relax. The lift was convenient and no pets were allowed. Easy to find, affordable, with a nice bathroom view of the water below. And let's not forget the delicious and strong coffee they serve. Highly recommended!

Absolutely loved the delightful ambiance of living with broken amenities! The bathroom ceiling dripped water, towels stayed wet, and no one bothered to replenish toiletries. Truly a five-star experience.

Who needs wifi or functioning facilities when you have a wonderful view and charmingly terrible exterior?

The hotel had a convenient location near the river and offered excellent views. The beds were super comfy and the rooms were equipped with a big fan. I also appreciated the fact that there was a lift in the hotel, making it easier to move around.

There were some negative aspects to my stay. The hotel was quite old and in need of renovation.
